⁹ This was to fulfill^(A) the words He had said: “I have not lost one of those You have given Me.”^(B)

¹⁰ Then Simon^(C) Peter,^(D) who had a sword,^(E) drew it, struck the high priest’s^(F) slave, and cut off his right ear. (The slave’s name was Malchus.)

¹¹ At that, Jesus said to Peter, “Sheathe your sword! Am I not to drink the cup^(G) the Father has given Me?”
